ELEMENTARY Grades K-5
Our home school model for kindergarten through
fifth grade students requires that students and
their support person (usually a parent or guardian)
meet with their California Credentialed Supervisory
Teacher once every two weeks for approximately one
hour. During this meeting, students share their
coursework with their Supervisory Teacher and
oral assessments are conducted on content
studied during the previous week.
CURRICULUM OPTIONS:
Pacific View Charter School (PVCS) promotes
differentiated learning and offers several
curriculum solutions for students:
- K12® Virtual curriculum- A combination of interactive
online lessons with offline materials, this
award-winning curriculum supports students with varied
learning styles, allowing the widest variety of students
the opportunity to master lesson objectives.
STUDENT ACADEMIC SUPPORT/ENRICHMENT:
- PVCS offers a classroom option for students
in grades kindergarten through fifth grade one
day a week. Here they are provided the opportunity
to work with their peers on language arts, science
, social studies, science, and art activities
that supplement the curriculum they are working
on at home and be a part of the PVCS community.
- Scantron- Performance Series in English and Math pinpoint proficiency levels, guide creation of the student’s Personalized Learning Plan, and chart individual growth.
- Monthly Field Trips: PVCS offers monthly field
trips within the community and may include Sea
World, Carlsbad Flower Fields, Green Oak Ranch
Day Camp, various theatre productions,
San Diego Zoo and others.
