Curriculum & Instruction

Pacific View Charter is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. PVC values strong partnerships with parents and guardians, and work collaboratively to support each student’s success.

Highly skilled, credentialed teachers guide the learning process through personalized learning, research-based curricula, and meaningful instructional support to prepare students for college, careers, and lifelong success.

In a personalized learning environment, students use technology, engage with standards-aligned curriculum, and develop the skills needed to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate, and manage relationships within diverse groups and settings.

Pacific View Charter’s curriculum and instructional program are designed to provide all students with equitable access to high-quality, standards-aligned learning experiences.

Instruction is aligned with California standards, including:

  • California Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics
  • Next Generation Science Standards
  • California History–Social Science Framework
  • California English Language Development Standards

Instruction is student-centered and responsive to our students' diverse cultural and linguistic learning needs. Teachers use personalized learning, technology, and research-based instructional practices to support access, engagement, and growth for all learners.

PVC also supports students through:

  • differentiated instruction
  • scaffolds and supports for diverse learners
  • literacy strategies embedded across content areas
  • multiple ways for students to demonstrate learning
